Established in 1970, Cromwell is a supplier of industrial tools and offers an unrivalled choice of products to all industries, professions, and trades. Cromwell has a long-standing relationship with us, working together for over 10 years, to bring in on average 350 hires a year, with 80% of recruitment in volume roles.

As businesses were emerging from the pandemic and preparing for the ‘bounce back’, a change in leadership within Cromwell brought with it a desire to transform and automate the recruitment function. Along with a new focus on the overall strategy, improving processes, providing increased transparency and valuable data. Creating a Centre of Expertise to better support the overall business strategy and growth targets, post pandemic.

It was clear that to achieve their objectives, Cromwell needed to optimise their use of technology, review their current recruitment processes, which had proven to be inadequate and bring back full end to end ownership of the recruitment life cycle. In this post-lockdown context, and with many hard to fill roles, the priority was to step up the recruitment team’s capability, whilst implementing an improved, engaging, on brand application process to wow and attract candidates. Also providing the business with valuable dashboard data and recruitment activity updates.

Cromwell expressed the transformation project has been one of their biggest successes to date. The support they received enabled the Talent Acquisition function to be transformed, on time and within budget. Without the collaboration and combined approach, changes to the recruitment process desperately needed wouldn’t have been delivered otherwise.

As a result of the successful partnership and completion of the optimisation project, the team received an increase of 31% in candidate applications; a 37% reduction in time to hire, and a noticeable improvement in the candidate experience as the time was reduced by 37 and a 67% saving on agency costs.
